The Brooklyn Flea is All Plaidout

Flea MaxSpecial thanks to Jessica of Brownstoner’s Brooklyn Flea for pulling me aside for a quick interview this weekend. They were nice enough to feature me and my new bucket on their blog. If you’re anywhere near New York and you haven’t been to the flea, you’re missing out. This spring you can find all the terrific vendors Saturdays in Fort Greene at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School on Lafayette Ave. between Clermont and Vanderbilt Aves. and this Sunday they are moving from their usual space at 76 and 81 Front St. in DUMBO to an archway under the Manhattan Bridge, effectively putting the UMB in DUMBO. Get there early for the best finds and stay late to watch all the bartering at sunset. Come hungry. I eat better at the flea than in most restaurants, this in a city of restaurants. Oh, and yes, bring your bucket. You’ll have plenty to lug home, and there is no hipper way to do so than with an antique steel bucket.
